All About Us

Hinterhof Farms was created as a small hobby farm when we moved into our old farmhouse with one acre property. We sold some produce, eggs, and poultry meat. We added one honeybee hive in the following spring to have honey to sell along with our other products. After our first year with bees ended in the bees dying, the search for new ones started and diving into the world of honey bee genetics and how important it is for better, quality bees. 

We do not use hard chemicals in our hives, no sugar syrup is fed during honey production season, and we leave ample honey on the hives for winter feeding. 

All of our honey is lightly filtered and never heated.

In October of 2023, We added 50 Katahdin and 2 Royal White sheep to our farm to step into the world of sheep farming for starter flocks and meat. We also added on to our egg layers to offer organically fed eggs.
